sry zap, but I think you got the wrong files. I got Duke3D on my machine, u can play it using some kind of emulator. I extracted the VC from the game files. they sound different, and there are some more you didnt include. ill give you a PM.

if you wanna play DN3d on win32, youre gonna need this Win32 port of the source:
Duke3d_w32
this does NOT include the game files, you still need:
In order to use this build, you must have one of the following data sets. (duke3d.grp)
Shareware version
Original 1.3D
Plutonium Pak 1.4
Atomic Edition 1.5

Or you can simply use
DosBox. It is an open source DOS emulator (no it doesn't run games slower, so try it).
DN3d is supported.

I have them and i know the story..
The first Duke VC's was made by one of the programmers, the latest are made by Jon Saint john for the "Duke forever" title.
The old was made with the latest stereo 8bit pr channel sound code.. Woot hot stuff..
The old ones i have ill replace with those u gave me..
I think those i got, are grabbed from the sound card. So they are a bit muffled.
