I'm pleading for removing the '[extract]' tag. I'm reading blogs with my RSS reader *only* and seeing only extracts in the feeds is annoying. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

The enhancements to the ignore were one of the things that wouldn't survive an upgrade, so yes I'll have to code those back in.

It wasn't a completely serious request because I know most people won't agree.

The BBCode documentation of that tag says: "This will allow users to define an extract for an entry. Only this piece of the entry will be displayed on the main blog page and will show up in the RSS feed."

Now here's the long version of how I'm reading my blogs:
I add the RSS feeds to a tool called SunriseXP. Each time I'm synching my Palm, the SunriseXP conduit will check all the feeds for changes. In the case of a change, it generates a new Plucker file and transfers it on the Palm. And at some time later, usually in a boring lecture, I'll start reading them. Of course I am offline then and blogs like Guide van Rossum's where each entry is just a one-liner with a link are completely useless.

More than actually wanting it removed, I'd like to ask people just not to use it unless they really have a reason to.

In the RT forum, we have a thread with 1 reply (mine) but 0 views. Might be an old bug / imprecise counting, but might also be a misconfiguration.

PS: 3 replies, 0 views now.

After I post:

Where the underlined number is the number of views.

NO, I haven't opened the post before.

We've talked this one before - post views are cached and don't update/refresh immediately. it's one of the options on the boards under the "saving resources" section.
