You forget to calculate the nans, that rip and the defenders, that pod the attackers and then proceed to kill the miners.

A solo scout with 1 reserve rack of dumb1s and 4 racks of ammo will take it down in about 300s.
A solo scout with a full belly of dumb1s firing a dis1 will take it down in about 700s.

Sorry, I never check the cores. The last time I knew the actual stats they were capital class hull. But either way my point is that they are easy to destroy if your team is coordinated to do it.

I have seen GT carrier rushes that are just so effective. Ask OMB, we pushed a carrier to his home and tied up his entire team when they were trying to kill it with a few good whores (okay, we had the HiderNick stack, but I have seen it with just a good team behind it too) and one nan D'ing the miner.

We killed all of his miners because nobody could D them because they were busy fighting the whores around the carrier, expanded everywhere and generally made him hurt. Badly.

What was silly about it was the ability to instantly get back into the fight when you got podded, it was a simple matter of flying to the carrier and ripping right back in again. I kept a +35KB because I could get picked up and come back so fast. Not one PK.

The energy is too much.

DN Carrier changes have been planned for months, but won't happen until the next major release in a few weeks.

Any chance of a brief rundown of the carrier changes to stop the speculation and complaining Noir?

Is a few weeks longer than two weeks? This has been a problem for a LONG time and I hope for something earlier rather than later.

A bit late, but...

Why spend 10k on a drone carrier when you can put it towards a frigate or something that kills bases and win the game?

Carriers, imo, are tools. they are mid-game tech that provide a platform for ships to operate from. Allowing them to be utilized 10-20 min into the game means the other team has had time to get some sort of tech up and to expand some. They can properly defend against the carriers, which still allow for the enmy to utilize them well. If they go Sup or Tac, Carriers are still very useful for the rest of the game if you get them early on. Delaying the time in which a team can get them is good. Making it so they cannot be utilized until a team has SY is basically taking them out of the game.
I'm not suggesting tying the light/standard carriers to SY, just to the SY tag. I'm all for keeping them in the garrison, albeit with considerable pricing increases. Besides, if we need better carriers, we can get the SY and give the carrier defensive capacities and get around the AI.
Nans are happy people. They fly around, give out repairs, and overall have a lot of fun. Why are we killing them when we can learn from their example?

On second thought, I loathe my old banner. I want a good one, does that mean I have to work for myself?

Tying them to the SY tag is pointless... since your liable to get lynched launching a DN game with SY off nowadays; because everyone knows that SY also shuts off/ on most of the cool toys we like with DN.

Well... I just found out that 00.05.00 might be delayed for another month, so... I am going to include all the planned changes for the existing factions into a 00.04.5x release. We can probably have a public test in a few days.
