Actually, it might help end a tradition of unquestioning support for one of the two parties at fault.germloucks wrote:QUOTE (germloucks @ Nov 27 2012, 10:57 PM) Assigning levels of blame around helps nothing.

A collective noun for a group of people is automatically a new nationality? I'm fairly sure that it doesn't work like that and that you'd have to be a dribbling 8 liner to think that it does.BREZHNEV wrote:QUOTE (BREZHNEV @ Nov 27 2012, 08:14 AM) Gazans? We have a new nationality now. What's is a Palestinian anyway?
Big talk from the "Brummie" I know your dirty little secret Rav!Raveen wrote:QUOTE (Raveen @ Nov 28 2012, 07:44 AM) A collective noun for a group of people is automatically a new nationality? As an aside, or more to the point, has anyone seen "The Promise" a Film4 4 episode drama about British involvement in post-war Palestine and current day Israel-Palestine conflict? I found it quite interesting, it does tend to show it from one viewpoint so can seem to be a bit biased but it highlights some interesting facts, but conversely it doesn't show all facts especially factors of why the Jews had Haganah in the first place and Arab riots. Interesting work though nonetheless.
I am soon to see Kosminsky's earlier work of Warriors about the Bosnia war which has got good reviews.

You are most likely correct. If Israel doesn't want to give back the territory, then a one-state solution is the only option left. That means an end to the "jewish state" in the narrow definition, but it's hard to see how that would be a bad thing. Israel is already officially bi-lingual. Just turn it into a proper democracy for all the people and call it Israel-Palestine or something silly like that.BackTrak wrote:QUOTE (BackTrak @ Nov 27 2012, 01:14 AM) Ideally, everyone needs to pick a partner from the other side, pound out a bunch of kids, and mix down to a happy society. Sooner or later, them hot chicks conquer everyone. Except maybe Germ. And hot T-Chicks for Vogue would also be needed, but these things are easily solved.

So... the exception to the above is that the Palestinians need to tolerate daily rocket attacks? The weapons rained down on their heads by the IDF are several orders of magnitude worse than what is shot at Israel. They are the targets of continued oppression and land theft, Gaza under a stranglehold and siege.germloucks wrote:QUOTE (germloucks @ Nov 27 2012, 07:19 AM) Adept, no country in the world would tolerate near daily rocket attacks. I probably wouldn't be able to come up with a a scenario that would somehow better legitimize war of retaliation.
The Palestinians are in the wrong there, absolutely. I understand that they may have felt, or been convinced, that negotiations for their own state would never work. However that doesn't give them the right to shoot rockets.
I agree with your conclusion though.

Because, you callous racist, Gaza has _never_ been a part of any biblical Israel even, and there is no reason these people should have to leave their lands because some armed bully wants it from them.BREZHNEV wrote:QUOTE (BREZHNEV @ Nov 27 2012, 09:28 AM) since Palestinians are so oppressed why doesn't Finland give them land carved out of Finnish territory starting with adepts house.
You also seem to think that the people harassed and tormented by the settlers should just pick up and become refugees so that the settlers can have more land. What a nice guy you are.

its no political party im very sorry
Delicious irony at the very least. I do feel that Hamas is very useful for the hawks in Israeli government. They need an enemy to fight and crush from time to time.
