It never mattered anyway since it takes a 3/4 majority in the senate to actually remove someone from office assuming impeachment makes it through the house with simple majority in the first place

In reality since that vote went so poorly, you now have a benchmark for future impeachments.
I would say another impeachment is very unlikely unless the House can get a huge Democratic Party majority in the 2018 election.
