Go for it Raum. I tried to PM the addy of the person who posted here (Jodie I think), but it didn't actually have the PM feature turned on since there's only the one post made (very annoying feature that).

This is what I wanted to post:

Proxy spammin in the vote

Please look into the votes for Grand Prix Racing Online. There is literally no way that is genuine, just some script kid that has figured out how to spam proxy votes.

You may want to put in some "verify you are a human being" functions into the vote to stop such.

There is no way this is genuine. If it was my site, I'd disqualify that. If they don't, we just need to proxy spam them back, though I hate the idea.

How do you know.
Their game looks more active than ours.
If it's proxy spamming - theyve gone to a lot of trouble Putting more than 170 posts from apparently different people saying they have voted since yesterday, when an Admin bumped them to do it .

According to their site there are >1000 players online right now.

It just looks like someone with the same idea as us, and more members has gazumped us guys.

Sorry guys

Eh, I'm less convinced this is fake.

Firstly, proxy spamming... Yeah. Didn't some people here mention doing something like that too? :P

Secondly, I dunno, I looked at their forum, it just seems they have a genuine effort to get to #1 going, same as us. Some of them mention voting from several machines, or by changing the IP address of their machine repeatedly, but... again, same's been mentioned here.

It does seem weird how they rocketed into first place within a few days, but that's not really proof in itself that they cheated...

There's nothing wrong with text games, also, btw. I still can't figure out if this game is multi-player or not, though. If you manage a "team" that has to race against "teams" other people manage, I'd say it counts (but I can't figure out whether this is the case or not :P )

We need an announcement on the front page that we are losing. ASGS message too. Their admin threatened not to update the game unless they go number 1, so they are hardcore. :o

Voted BTW.

Also,on your main page, you claim: Multiplayer games... thats all we do.but the current leaders stats are as follows...
Genre: Sports | Strategy
Platform: Linux | Mac | Windows
Client Type: Browser
Interface: Text Based
Time : Tick Based
Status: Gold
ESRB Rating: NR
Massively Multiplayer: No <--------------

This entry shouldn't even be allowed as it doesn't fit the criteria for your site.

Thanks for reading my e-mail - RaumVogel <<--- My online multi-player handle :-)

Don't raise a stink about "massively multiplayer". They seem at least as "massive" as we are, if not more so. Each "race" is as big as a regular Alleg game.

Let's see, they have 1000+ players on line at this very moment, we have what, 30-40? That's more than our entire leaderboard. Yesterday I saw 2300+. I really wouldn't be all that surprised if they are able to generate 40-50 times the votes that we can.

About the sudden "jump". They got 600-700 the first day they voted. 800 on day 2 isn't that unreasonable. Also note that the spikes correspond mainly to Euro hours, which is where I imagine most of their player base resides. To me this implies that they are genuinely logging in every day to vote, not some script kidding proxy spamming 24 hours a day.

Play fair, don't whine, and try our best. If we are snooping around there, they are probably snooping around here. Need to be as sportsmanlike as possible and hope to get some of them to try our game out as well.

If we end up 2nd, oh well, we try again in next month. Look at it this way, if we "win" we will no longer appear on the front page a month from now. this way we get a little more eventual publicity from this site.

Erm, I might not be right about this, but I think "Massively Multiplayer" is not quite the same as just "Multiplayer."

Also, if the MMPOGD site has a category that tells you whether a game is MM or not, that alone should tell you that their website is okay with listing non-MM games... You can complain that this doesn't match the spirit of the purpose of their site, but if this is the decision they've made, they're not likely to listen.

Exactly, and Alleg isn't really a "massive" game either (and never was), so if we ask the site to drop their game, they'll have to drop ours first.
