You state that you cannot find where something like this has been tried before, how hard did you look? Did you not realize the Alleg community doesn't like rehashing ideas again and again? Watching the forums for a week or two will tell you how "rehashed ideas" are treated. What else did you expect? Before you state that they should "really just listen and nicely tell you that this won't work" let me tell you a bit about the real world (since you haven't figure it out yet):
When you are new to a community, don't put yourself out there until you know how things work. If you decide to jump without looking, expect to land in shallow water. That being said, your account has a 2007 date. The community doesn't see you are "new" and tolerance levels are waaaayy down since you've "been here a while." I know you haven't been active that entire time, but if you still have no idea how this community works, ACT LIKE YOU ARE NEW (not stupid)! The best thing to do when you have a "new" idea in a new place is to watch how it goes for others. About once every week or so, some newb comes in with a thread about starting a new squad or how "OMGWTFBBQ! Wouldn't it be great if?" If you open your mouth with no knowledge, you started it.

Who made the first post? You did, therefore, you started it. Sheesh. You put forth an idea with no thought, no consideration for its presentation, nothing. If you worked for me and presented an idea to me with that little preparation, I would seriously consider firing you. Yes, this isn't a "job" or "career," but the same principle applies. Being as asshat and being right are two totally different things. One most certainly can be right AND and an asshat. Just because you don't like HOW the news was delivered to you doesn't mean you shouldn't heed said advice when it's good. The fact that you don't heed the advice, especially when it is put to you time and time again, nicely and not so nicely, shows that you aren't listening or cannot think logically. Your advice is to shut up, yet you keep claiming things that aren't true. If I don't defend myself people will assume that I agreed with you. Normally I wouldn't mind that too much but in this case it sets the precedent that vets are always right no matter how much of an @#$%@# they are. Normally I don't mind that too much either because I'd think to myself, "Well that's how they do things there." But I like this game, the there has become a here. I want to stay and make the game more popular and better. And if we want the community to grow we need to discourage trolls.
