Hello My name is ______, and I know I suck at Allegiance.

I had a question regarding juckto's keyboard layout. Was it made for a joystick+keyboard? Or was it optimised for keyboard+mouse. Beacuase in my experience, the rather localized specialization of the key functions make it hard to dogfight. in other words, My hands are always stretched and crab-like. Any assistance?

Ahh you see, I have looked at those resources. And have implemented juckto's keyboard layout. And I would have to rephrase my question.

What advice does one have for me in regards to remapping my keyboards in terms of importance. Because from juckto's layout, I figured that the keybindings for asdf and zxcv are the more important targets when engaging hostiles. So in regards to that I suppose.

For example, how has you Lans formatted your keyboard, and in what nature do you suggest me for formatting mine.

My own advice is to use a key for enemy targets and shift + key for the same targets, friendly. I. e. B is enemy base and shift + B is friendly base, F is enemy bomber and shift + F is friendly bomber. Normally you have more time (and free fingers) to target a friendly.

That page is a suggestion, its not how I formatted my own key layout. I'm on a laptop, so I don't have an numberpad and my key layout is probably very compressed compared to most people.

Don't worry too much about key layout. Find something that works well enough for now, and you'll refine it over time as you figure out which keys you tend to use and where its comfortable for you to hit them.

Many people, (including me for a long time) neglect target Aleph.
Alephs might not seem like an important target since they don't shoot back, but they are...

Targeting Alephs is very useful when positions yourself on miner D and when deploying probes.
It's very convenient to be able to flip through the Alephs without disengaging AP.

Mapping "target center" to a convenient button (like mouse 3) removes the need for a lot of those targeting options. The only ones I use frequently are Target Enemy and Target Friendly.

Even if you had infinite turn rate or 360 degree view, nothing let's you find out which miner is under attack faster than flipping between them with a single key or key combo.
Other example include xnanning... I flip between all friendly ship but always flip to the bomber every other heart beat.

I suppose if you have target friendly and enemy you can flip through all of them, but that takes time and attention... both of which tend to be in short supply.

Nevertheless, if you ever post a video of you in action, I'd like to see how you work. There's always something to learn from other people's procedures.
