Queeny, not like you to just copy others! And I thought you were unique! (Flair, nose up, humph noise, and a girly march in the other direction)

This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen and we're all lucky Spidey was bored enough to post and make this storm in a teacup
Squads already resign games if they feel like resigning games, and there's nothing anyone can do to stop them except refuse to schedule games against them (which hasn't happened AFAIK). I doubt it will happen unless someone 9 minute resigns.
That said RT avoids the resign like a plague and I think there's a lot of good to be had for the losing team in playing a lost game out to the end.
p.s. Just an update to our previous story published on every day since grav started commanding: Grav still better than spidey in the command chair.

Way to make yourself look stupid!
This is exactly what I said anyway. For you to say "this is the most stupid thing ever!" then state what is stated is just stupid
Back to the sane world of this dead horse. No one has said any good reasons for being a twat towards someone who resigns at a good point in a match. The best I've got is "I like seeing the base blow up" or "Just Because". The learning from being in a losing position isn't a valid point because I'm not talking about people who resign from a near-hopeless situation but from positions where it's already been a few hours and it's a good place to stop (where recovery could happen if everyone really wanted too but half the team want to go) or it is a _total_ loss.
However, there's no point continuing to have a discussion about such things in the alleg forums because "change is bad! NO BUTS!"

What would happen if you played timed games, say an hour, and called it a draw if neither team won outright?

A bit sucky since it could be a good game

True enough Dorjan, on the contrary side look at good games that go from 30-60-90 minutes and beyond, a critical exhaustion point comes when some players are unable to perform well anymore and the replacements are to often degrading the team even more. I like to use timed (2hrs max) games but I so often forget to add that in settings.

other alternatives include having a max kill limit. that's worked in the past and you'd think it might encourage useless dming but the opposite is true. people are not so dm happy and when they do so, they tend to help each other out more, like combat nanning.

But a max kill limit means you can only defend a certain number of times though ...

what do you mean? there's opportunity cost to failing a bomb run (offense) too...
