I've played with the driver settings quite a bit making a custom profile for Allegiance for the video card as well as turning off pretty much everything in Allegiance. Bi-directional lighting does have an effect, and makes things better, but things look pretty cruddy without it turned on.

I loose my motivation to help out more and more each day to drama like this. Which is why I am mostly /meh on this point. I will continue to play as I always have, with the morals I have been rasied with and if this community finds they don't like myself and others like me who just enjoy playing the game with their friends on TS or squadies, then they can ban us and my Warhammer account, Girlfriend, and IRL activities will get a lot more attention and will thank them.

if you have a decent enough cpu, just turn off hardware rendering. That has solved the low fps problem for me.

I have been watching this thread since it started, I have the exact same card as dogbones. This sucks, I am considering 1 of 2 options. option 1 is change vidio card (silly) or option 2 quit playin allegiance (much easier to say than to do). still waiting on a solution. I am so sick of hitting alt enter in the middle of a dogfight or bomb run! Is there not a big enough problem for this to be fixed within the game? I dont know @#(! about computers , but; I do know this is taking the fun out of alleg and making me want to look for a new online game that works with modern day video cards. Running old drivers suck for playin Crysis too!

very dissapointed

If you want it fixed, ask nVidia to fix it. It is a problem they created, not the dev team. The fix from our dev team is not yet ready and will take more time and testing.

I sent in my complaint 2 months ago, you guys have said that the new drivers don't fix it...
I don't think it's the dev teams fault; I was trying to say that if invidia doesn't fix it and over time we all will have to update our computers to get modern games to work like crysis, and if aleg can't function with the modern world it will go away like the dinosours! If I could fix it or help in any way I would! I love this game and play it twice a day.

I have learned to avoid some of the conflicts and I do alot more droping of prox!

As Grimm said member(s) of the dev team are working on it. It is not a simple fix unfortunately. We'll have something though, not sure how long it will take. More and more people will be effected by it as they upgrade their systems unless we come up with a solution or nVidia does.

I cannot not, others may be able to. Likely the old DirectDraw interface, but that is just a guess. An attempt is being made to upgrade the interface to DX9 but it is a work in progress.

Yeah, I was guessing it was the old directdraw calls, I don't actually know. It makes a lot of sense since it has been deprecated for ages now.
