That was posted a week ago. Half of this entire thread has been about the TF scout. Try reading more in this forum than just the topic titles before posting.

And yes I merged your thread into this one. Hopefully you can find it here.
Amazing, it was posted about within days of release. Half this thread has been about the TF scout. Try reading posts more carefully until you realise that scaling a thin model won't do any good unless it's massive in every other direction. :P

You waste your time Rav. I said this myself not too long ago. Before the TF scout came up as an issue, even.

I mentioned the scaling was an issue because we currently have a model that is thin, flat and small compared to the old one. Had we scaled it up, it would simply be thin and flat. Still an issue for most people to hit, but not to the level of invincibility many are claiming currently.

As for Raven: He apparently couldn't be bothered to read any of the recent threads in this forum but still felt compelled to create a new topic telling us we needed to fix the scouts. Its like working at a hotel with a pool, and having some customers complain that there's nowhere to go swimming. If he had bothered to so much as search this forum for "scout" he would've found that we had, in fact, been discussing it for a week prior to his nonsense.

Just "using the rapier wit all mods are given" :D

I would like some clarification though - is the plan currently to retain Rama's model but scale it up so it'll be larger XY but not significantly so in Z and see how that goes, or move to a different model?

Your posts suggest the former but as you're clearly aware that's not a great solution because of the scaling issue in the Z direction.

As an alternative might it be possible to reorient and/or stretch the model in a modelling package and then reimport it to make it more orthogonal?

We're switching to Rain's model.

This.

I'd love to do this, but its not a high priority since the alternative model (Rain's) is already finished. FWIW, I like Rama's model better from an appearance standpoint, but after testing its just not feasible to balance. (Not that I think Rain's model is ugly or bad. I just liked Rama's more.)

There will be a new, small release coming out hopefully next week with many of these issues addressed.

if this one doesn't work either i may have an alternative tf scout ready soon... if i get time to work on it anyways.
This one will maybe look better to the customers, since it doesn't sport visible guns, which seem to be the issue about it.
If anyone is interested in the looks of it, holler me, i've got pics somewhere (untextured as of now)

@Rav if he's reading, i still have that new belt omni model i made, i may have it uvmapped soon as well if you want to have a try at its texture.

cheers

Oh. I have no problem with visible guns, I just think having one stream of tiny red dots come out of a huge set of six triangular barrels looks silly, especially when there's no way to make the assembly rotate.

Even with a real gatling it's just one stream of bullets of course.

When can we expect the tweaked CC_09?

I know that.

It's done, just needs to go on autoupdate.

Now that this tweak has been in effect for a few months, I must say it was a very elegant fix. HTTs feel much more efficient, and fly in a cool and ponderous way. Station caps are happening again in exp vs. exp game, even with heavy ints on both sides.

WTG Dassmiter and CC team.
