I actually briefly played Imperial Conflict many years ago, when I was young...

It was the first browser-based strategy game I ever played. It wasn't particularly good, though it did briefly get me addicted to (better) similar games. Its blah-ness was hardly a consequence of it being (mostly) text-based, in my opinion, though... More that it completely randomly stuck you with a bunch of people you
had to work with closely, and... wait...
Well, Allegiance does it a lot better.

Also IC had pretty simple and boring mechanics. There
are better space-based browser strategy games out there, though.

Tick based games can be fun but require a major time investment to be good.
Unfortunately, unlike alleg which also requires a major time investment, most of your time is spent waiting on the next tick.

"He took the time"? "His revenue?" Guys, I know "Jodie"
can sometimes be a unisex name, but seriously...
There are no girls on the internet.

Hi Jodie, thanks for dropping in. I don't know about everyone else but I'd noticed the changes, along with the site redesign. Hope MPOGD keeps supplying us with players for a long time to come
