Step 1: Regulate who can join teams to keep PUGs even.
Step 2: Regulate who can join squads to keep sgs even.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

its funny. i have a younger brother who has been watching me play this game. if he created an account, he'd be a noob fo sho. but heres the thing; i could play under his noob name. would anyone know? probably not cuz hes a computer whiz and can pickup on any game really quick.

whats stopping vets playing on a noob name? (dont tell me ip address an all that crap). in situations where they MIGHT actually have a younger brother... its just a thought.

and food for thought: create a new account under a new email address (again, dont give me that ip address crap). use other computers. laptops. libraries. schools. many many options.

last night i was in a game where someone said 'theres no such thing as stacking. just [sucky] players." of course sucky wasnt used xD.

im not here saying that i support stacking. i like even games. but good luck trying to stop the stacking. once an issue has been dealt with, a new problem will occur. its human nature. so as hard as you try to 'stop' stacking, people will find a way around it. but also, i just wanna say this... this is only a game. not life. i think a lot of people take it way to seriously

(long story short, i dont support stacking, but it'll never stop. you cant stop it. and ppl are way to serious in this game)

If we are unable to stop people from creating new nicks and using them to circumvent the system, how come guns and virus and other players get caught again and again?

Note: I don't have time to read a novel and have quickly scanned through this thread.

Eh this seems a bit too much. The whole problem is the current ranking system and banning stackers is not appropriate IMO. Banning commanders who purposely take high ranks and deny low ranks when their team is obviously even or better is legit and they should be hunted down. These commanders have been a plague upon Allegiance for as long as I can remember.

As far as I know the progress on AllegSkill or whatever the new ranking system has halted right? ELO/HELO or whatever we have now has been wrong since the beginning (no offense to who created it, but sticking with it after its a failure for so long is not good).

IS AUTOBALANCE STILL NOT FORCED FOR RANK GAMES?

I'm nearly positive it isn't and If not the whole ranking system is worthless. Even if HELO could make a difference its not if auto balance isn't enforced for ranked games. Their is no integrity in a system that gives points based on wins and losses, yet lets games count for ranking without auto balance in place.

P.S. Might possibly have not stopped playing if we had good balanced pub games on a regular basis. But I'll probably try to get some games in to try to get back into Alleg so I can record some videos

When the community was asked if autobalance should be mandatory on any game, rated or not, the answer was; NO.

So instead random bans are being handed out, against the express wishes of the community.

Tommorow tall people will be banned, and next week red-heads.

The hilarity continues.

Weee.

P.S. Are squad games exempt or does half of XT get banned after every SG?
n.b. I may not see a forum post replied to me or a pm sent to me for weeks and weeks...

I have begun keeping track of uses of the slippery slope fallacy. I am now taking bets on who will utter the most.

It's not the SG's that are the issue, its PU games, which make the majority of games played. There already was a Squad Scrim Thursday thing going on, where only squadded players gather up to play and such, whatever happened to that? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

The reasoning behind Autobalance not working was pretty straightforward too, it didn't work because *gasp* nobody ever used it anyway to begin with. You can build a car piece by piece, but guess what? you won't know if it works until you try to start the damned thing. Nobody even gave Autobalance a chance to work, which was the reason why mandatory game with AB was proposed in the first place (if you turn off AutoAccept it CAN work since you can divvy the low ranked players evenly)

As for the "against the wishes of the community thing", people have been calling for blood about stacking for my entire 1+year stretch, and from what i've been told, thats been going on 8 years. If anything, they were finally listening with the people crying out about stacking as apposed to letting it work itself out.
