IMO:
1.- SPQR should have a plan rather than good intentions, I don't think that is impossible to make a good or at least a decent squad out from them, they already got the infrastructure and some players, they only need to organize, practice and most important recruit. If they really have the intentions of being better, and as Shiz said, they don't have the skills to make their kids to learn, they can always ask to play and practice with other squads, and learn in the path. I don't want to speak for my whole team, but I'm pretty sure a lot of us will support you in practice sessions if you ask for it.
2.- Some squads should start worriing about their own situation rather than throwing stones to the others.... I invite you sirs to look at the tourney results and think about it...

I like to look at SPQR (or it may be another squad in the future) as a metaphor for the health of Allegiance. If everyone else puts in and helps them, then Allegiance is healthy. If people want to laugh at and stomp on them, its just a matter of time until they are next.
SPQR's issue is purely experience that translates into leadership...and i dont mean SL or ASL...I mean in game experience and having the initiative to take a thought out lead role in game when it is needed. I witnessed this first hand in our SRM vs SPQR+mercs game, where Exer was comming and running O.
I would be the first to welcome a vet rotation policy into SPQR from other squads to take Miner O, Bomb HTT and Miner D leads, at least until they get some recognised vets in their squad. The reality is that probably SPQR will remain more of a CDT squad for a little while.
Just my thoughts...

I'm going to say a few things that we all learned in SF during the early days. If you decide to continue on with SPQR expect to lose every match for at least a year. There is no way around that. If your squadron can endure that type of punishment for a year, you have a chance.
You will need to recruit heavily from CDT and get veteran pilots from the game to step in and help with training. Joint practices will be a must to improve your skills. Rebuilding, not winning, should be your top priority.
SPQR's leadership is going to put in a LOT of time into rebuilding. You better be ready for it because it's not easy. The stigma and drama about SPQR will slowly fade away over the next few months.
Perhaps by year two or three your numbers and skills will be to the point that you can challenge another squadron on an equal footing. This is going to be an astronomical huge undertaking. I can't stress that enough.
