New distribution of Alleg power
If after ACSS rolls out officially, activity does not see a dramatic increase, I will take this ship by force

For the record - I haven't been a ZL for a year (more? less?). I resigned because I knew I wouldn't have time to either play or do the job. I kept the tag and mod access because I do have time to check the forums somewhat and could still make myself useful every now and again.
As and when I have the opportunity I'd love to play again but who knows when that'll be. Certainly it's very hard for me to get much more than 30 mins gaming time in any one session so Alleg isn't ideal. And frankly the last times I tried a PUG the game sucked horribly due to stack or poor com(s) or whatever, it's not exactly motivating.
Should I be entitled to an opinion on ingame stuff? Probably not. Should I be banned from posting? No, Allegiance is, for me, as much about the community as it is about the game. It's a good thing that we have such a strong community and if the game should die I would hope that the forums carry on as a meeting place for the friends I've made here.

There is a difference between refusal to play and being busy. Myself I go through phases where I won't play at all for a few months, then play heavily for months, then play casually for months (not necessarily in that order). We all (should) get busy sometimes, but all should make an effort to show up when you can.
But there's no reason that someone that doesn't play, with no intention of playing ever again, should be able to continue into balance/development/general-future-of-allegiance discussion.
and the worst are the people who can't find time to play but still find time to post THIS GAME IS DEAD all the time

Whomever called me inactive for 2 years before I became a ZL is wrong.
I played at least 2 games a week until about 3 months ago, and for the years before that alleg could've been a part time job for all the hours I put into it.
I'm in the process of stepping down right now due to an overwhelming lack of time for Allegiance.
The worst are the forum trolls who don't play but continue to ask why allegiance is dying. Not that Alleg would be saved it they played, but it's still ridiculous to see.
Alleg used to have something interesting to offer, in the sense of both gameplay and community. It's both the gift and curse of Alleg that these two things were tied so closely together, there were some truly compelling games commanded by excellent people and flown with solid teammates.
I might stop in and play if I see something interesting, but gone are the days of logging on to see how well I can match up against aarm or GV or Ozzy or Nak or Night. I had fun flying under, over, and in circles around Grav. I once pushed a belts bomber with my frig so fast it outraced ints to the base. I think I flew with IW at one time or another, but to hell if I can remember anything but his NOAT whoring. I played a game against zwitter and he expanded while I built 3 garrisons in my home, then we won (woo tf). Heck even Spidey had something to show me once, but it was so small I could barely see it.
See you later, space cowboys
