sriously. this guy made more penalties than everyone else and nothing happened.
home team ftw!!!1!

Understand the construct of the tackle and you will understand how well open side flankers can stay within the rules.
[not allowed the link to tv.rugby.com.au and Tackle Law]
I have much better refereeing videos that I cant find online that demonstrate this law and how by being the tackler, letting go and then pivoting to your side you can slow or steal the ball very legally.
It is countered by good cleanout, which just didnt happen.

Gandalf,
Thanks for putting so much hard work into this prediction game and maintaining the web site as well as you did. I really enjoyed being involved and the discussion it created about the teamsport I love above all others, which in my opinion is the greatest social network on the planet. (Heck: If you can travel to France and meet up with people you played with during Uni out of the blue, that counts for a lot, or turn up for a third division game for Hackney in London and seemlessly link up with players from Wales, England, South Africa and New Zealand).
Look forward to your next one for the 6 nations...at least having seen the northern boys play I might have a better chance.
Regards

Glad you enjoyed. I enjoy running it & seeing people play along

It's really not that much work to run new competitions now the code base is all set up.
I agree that rugby is a very sociable sport & the bond between players, of all teams, remains, & there is gnereally a good spirit of sportsmanship. I always remember when I played at school, we would always form a guard of honour after the match to clap the other team off and they would do the same for us.
As for the final, well I saw the first 60 minutes of it. I can't decide if France played really well or New Zealand played poorly because of the pressure. Amazing stuff for the reserve reserve reserve's fly-half to score the winning points. that penalty only just made it inside the posts didn't it?! Still, the best team over the course of the competition won, though I still think Wales - NZ would've been a great match. That Warburton red card will stick long in the momery, possibly the thing most people will remember about the world cup (especially for brits).
