I misguidedly declare: Allegiance is Dead
I'm not advocating what Imago did was acceptable in any way. I do believe it brought awareness to a problem that needed some attention though.
To his detriment, his stunt was a PR disaster if he had any hopes of winning this communities trust in that he could provide a better home for Allegiance.

Small, open-source communities like these exist all over the internet. They all deal with relatively similar problems and all seem to end up in, more or less, the same place eventually. I've stuck thousands of dollars over the last few years into another online gaming community (tremulous). While the cumulative playerbase is many times larger than allegiance, i've watched the exact same thing happen.
Its completely natural for old @#(! to give way for new @#(!. Will Allegiance eventually die? Of course! It's a stupid question to even ask! But that doesnt mean people who care can't band together and make the experience the best it can be, for as long as it still makes sense. So, hats off to the marketing team, the dev team, and the administration staff for doing just that. But lets at least be realistic about it.
