IMO Planet was also driving people away to an extent.

It was crashing several times a week at one point, probably due to the vast majority of games being played there. I remember getting distinctly annoyed when 3-4 consecutive games I played crashed. Some US players reluctant to play on GPZ disappeared for the night after planet crashed, so gmae sizes after a crash went quite small.

More servers is good.

The connection problems are being worked on, and hopefully will be fixed.

Progress is being made due to the hard work of the people involved.

Disaster prognostications aside, we're working on it. Bottom line is this: If Solap sucked that badly people wouldn't be using it. Clearly people are voting with their feet. Solap's hosting provider is looking into improving their routing as we speak. Said improvements aren't going to happen overnight. This requires $$$$$$ on the part of said provider. You should all be happy that anything is being done about this at all. When half of Europe had lag on Planet, the solution was "Tough @#(!".

Please be patient. People and companies are working on the problem as you read this.

Amen, and said again, that hard work is neither unnoticed or unappreciated.
Hopefully the connection issues are solved. Playing after 9 pm my local time will be very tough for me after Oct 1st.

FYI: Solap has not crashed once. We know. If Solap were to crash, the admins would receive an email detailing the circumstances surrounding the crah. To date, I've not had a single crashmail.

That's great for everyone or at least for the bigger part of the community :)

ESC P at same time shows:

Probably the worst Allegiance server that i've ever tried to play on. Impossible to dogfight or do anything teamwork related.

What confuses me is pings and tracert seem OK, but in game ping is completely off the scale.

Every time I try and log on to play on Solap I get the same thing. I even swapped over to planet while taking these readings, and had a steady 140ms ping there, go back on Solap and back up to around 800ms...

I've never had 700- 800ms ping on Planet which seems to be the norm on this new Solap server, at worst 200 - 300, So i am not really sure what your point in that respect is.

At least I could log in and play, even if there was a little jumping around.

I also dont think that telling people to quit is the solution either, no matter how frustrated YOU may be with the situation.

I imagine that it's a result of your being a dick in-game. Want us to investigate? Don't piss off the in-gamers.

Frankly you can carry on with your @#(!ty ping until something changes with your attitude.

Want me to send my logs, ill go right ahead, if I remember correctly it was me trying to discuss it sensibly when you started to throw your toys out of the pram.

Get your facts right.
