I'll be the first to admit that I haven't caught up on all the changes, but in the month or so I've been back, I've seen sup performing pretty much exactly as it always has. With the exception of the no more TP2s in rocks nerf, which made me sad to find out about, just because I was probably one of its biggest offenders whenever I got pissed offCronoDroid wrote:QUOTE (CronoDroid @ Oct 23 2008, 11:19 PM) lol CoD must've not read the changelogs. Sup is much stronger now in comparison to Exp (and more useful because of the fuel perk), and SS3 has always been quite a remarkable boost, equivalent to Hull2 GA for Figs (thereabouts I think). Any changes should be looking to make those minor Sup techs more accessible, rather than perking them in anyway. You don't want SS3 too early, it is rather strong, especially against Belters.
Anyway the poll was worded wrongly anyway, because when we discussed moving garr things to sup it SPECIFICALLY meant Lv3 to ADV SUP. In fact I think the poll should be reworded to clear this up because there is no real reason for moving Seeker2/SS2 to Sup or Adv Sup.
Figs, in general NEED an hp boost. Saying that SS3 is ~= to Hull 2 GA for figs is kind of a joke. Not only is SS2/3 more expensive then hull GAs, but hull GAs are massive boosts to...well anything bigger then a fig. The only way dogfighting in a fig works, is if you are able to dictate range. If you can hold the range open on an int and smother him with missiles, then a fig can chew through ints. But that is difficult to do at best, even in 1v1 circumstances.
I'm kinda meh on moving SS around. I think making it require a basic sup to research 2/3 would be fine, but moving it to sup is just going to be a slight bios nerf and a slight belters boost, so whatever happens with that I don't really care. I do think SS2/3 should be buffed though. Maybe even buff SS1 a little. Say 10% for 1, 20% for 2, and 30% for 3. That would make figs much more capable dogfighters, and give people more of a reason to buy them. As it is, its basically just adding another layer of tissue paper to the stack.
