Ground buildings are built right on top of humungous resource rocks. You can pile as much resources as you want to make your power plant. Biggest things in alleg space are bases built from asteroids. The amount of mass of the asteroid limits the base size. If you want to grow it further, you need to collect more resources from somewhere away, and that's expensive. Even worse if it is in orbit, since more fuel is needed to readjust the trajectory. Quick question: The only AI-controlled things in Allegiance are the Miners, Constructor, and Stationary Turrets, right? So they're all I have to make AIs for? (I know Miners and Constructors take orders from the Commander, but they use their AI to actually carry out their orders. [I'm just preempting anybody who points out that the Com tells em what to do /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />])

I had this idea: Dregklar foot soldiers should have the option of having a big Cloud-esque sword as a weapon. Sort of a traditional, honorable way to fight. I can't really see Rixians (the other aliens) as having it, because, according to something I read on the Microsoft Allegiance site, they're 3 feet tall lol. As I see it, a big sword could serve as a shield to gunfire (with the big flat sides), and be a good way of rushing at your enemy. It would really only be useful in base invasion/defense, because in the battlefield they'd be gunned down. But I think it offers a fun change of pace. Thoughts?

How about teh old skool electro swords(they are aliens) that can fire pulses(faction foot soldier perk) and the sword can be used as a melee weapon up close.

oh and as for my bit im nearly finished with the opening video for it. titled Aftermath, i post it as soon as im done.

Ok the video concept is done. Now I will warn you its only a concept and since I dont have any models to work with i decided to cut a few different videos into one to give the general idea of what im looking for. You will notice I used a few clips from the upcoming Halo:wars game as the "Spartans and Aliens" are good base models. I want comments on how we can change anything once it goes into production with the models, not whether halo is good or not, or whether I pciked the wrong soundtrack etc. Please be sensible or I will ignore your post. Its only about 1min 20secs as I didnt think anymore was necessary atm. oh and btw there is a couple of segments from the original video iv missed out but will be included later on and hopefully on the final piece.

Nice, but what it seems to me that your idea is, would be more suited to a commercial, or as PART of the intro movie. Think maybe a sort of diary of a soldier, sorta like Allegiance's intro, but more geared toward our storyline and the situation, would be better as a whole?
Perhaps something like (and I dunno exactly what Cadillac's writing, but):

(IC soldier, aboard a dropship {htt}) "When we got to Earth, it was an alien environment. That wasn't all that was alien, though." (landing) "The Rixians and the Dregklar had gotten there before us." (battle scene, our main IC soldier + other IC vs Rix and/or Dreg)
(another battle, vs the dif human factions this time)"Instead of banding together to face the common threat, the human factions keep fighting each other."
(battle vs Techno) "Then, there are the androids. Nobody knows what the hell drives them. What do they care about Earth? Or do they just want us all dead?"
(aftermath of battles) "We've landed. And we're taking back the Earth."

Actually, looking at what I just wrote, seems all your idea lacks is some narration.

Noted, nice narrative aswell, well maybe use the concept as a "teaser trailer" instead. As for a more narrative I need models. I can do the animation for them myself but I cant model funnily enough.
