Autoloading firearm are far the simplest Way of killing lots of people quickly and when the urge strikes. I say start with restricting autoloaders, then make licencing involve references and membership to gun club or letter from game club or primary producer blah blah like we have here in Australia. It sucked when these laws first came in, but legit firearm owners have adjusted and no mass shootings.
Any changes in the US would take decades to work but you will never get there unless you start soon
