Hi guys,

Just to put this one to rest, in addition to the points Wasp made I would like to keep the name Microsoft Allegiance because that way it shows up in google search right next to the meta critic reviews and also next to Microsoft Flight Simulator on steam from which I am hoping we will get some overflow. In addition to this, I also don't want a competing launch from another company to be seen as "More Official", so I'm laying claim to this name now. The store front is already #3 on google's search results, below FAO and the wiki page, which is great for it being live for just a few days. When you search for Allegiance, you of course get many results. Your natural next step is to search on "Microsoft Allegiance", and I want that traffic.

Once we get Steam approval on the build, I will ask Rick Rashid if he wouldn't mind taking a look over everything and get his input on the store front and see what he thinks about the whole thing in general. As the man who released the game to us, he is the most qualified to give us Microsoft's take on the presentation of the store front.

If, later on, MS decides they would like to reclaim the name, it is very easy to change it via the store front management tools.

AEM, thanks for the store front input, I'll add that to the todo list.

I have a bad feeling about using microsoft and not being microsoft. Is this known to them and agreed with? We owe them a lot.

I don't have the full information here, but i recommend you to think twice about the name.
I'm not sure if free allegiance sounds too much like freemium. But i like the name.

Mr. Rashid DID ask us to let him know when it launched on Steam. He even offer to help advertise - but that was probably tongue in cheek. Anyway, BT is tight with him and I think having him check it out would be fine. Since he is retired from Microsoft, he doesn't officially speak for them, but his concurrence would go a long way.

You are not using microsoft. You are not impersonating or representing microsoft.

You are suggesting to rename this game, when there is no need to.
