I can't remember if it's PCore 7 or 8 but one of those two has editions that have either draconium or peenix removed. You can test on that. They're handily labeled:

Pcore008_nd = "no duh there's no phoenix on this core"
Pcore008_np = "no phucking way we'd let draconium be on this core"

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

Right!

You mean low risk from an artistic perspective? If so, the 100+ textures Quia pulled from the art CD's should fall in this category as they are the official MS ones at their original resolution (2-4x the detail of retail versions).

If I am repeating myself it's only because we've had these things for years and they never really caught on. I blame myself for not pushing back when I was more active.

I can and I will include them.

Update:
After testing with DR, we confirmed that the crashing issue with high res, is sadly related to draconium.
We tested on pcore 8 with this: http://www.german-borg.de/files/HighResTextures.7z installed.
Bios, Rix and Omicron all crash to desktop when pressing the force launch button, at 2048 texture res.
On another note Allegiance seems to be using almost 6GB of ram on my machine with the high res on.
(No wonder that those with less powerful pc's crashed).
DR reported 3.5 gb of ram usage on the same settings.
The crashing would not happen on a core without Drac.
THis was tested in a R8 beta environment.

This does not mean that we have to remove drac.
1024 textures res still look magnificent and do not cause crashing.

Second update.
I have a new high res texture pack ready.
It includes:
-All the high res published by mesial
-A retextured version of a he3 rock which did not possess a high res equivalent.
-Space junk's alephs
Quia's high res textures made from the art source artwork.
PKK I will send you a copy shortly.
Once r8 is published (Very soon), this will be all included in the new Allegiance installer.

Please do not tie the two together so tightly one stops the other
