@Brood I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. I did actually check that wiki page, initially for stats, but the page with ethnic demographics has incorrect percentages (they add up to more than 100%). Also, taking out Hispanics you get 64%, so U.S.A is still more homogeneous (at 77%). The point I wanted to make was ethinic issues arise from cultural differences but clearly that's not case since U.S is not as multicultural as it believes (race and ethnicity-wise)

Here is a first step the numbers SHOULD add up to more than a hundred percent because of people like Barak Obama.

edit: simplification of complex issus is always going to get one in a jam. I know as I have multiple merit badges for doing it on this very forum. Im not taking a side as it isnt that important to me just saying it doesnt jive with my personal experiences when in Canada on a regular basis (I live in the Detroit area)

Well first off, let me just say I re-read the wiki and indeed, I have made an ass of myself. It clearly says that it counts multiple responses and mixed heritages twice; so hats off to Brood and Mr. C, you guys were totally right (fail x3 I guess).
Second, I was actually making the point that simplification of complex issues does get one into a jam, since the ethnic homogeneity statistics do not match the current events. Or so I thought, but Mr C's link (which is regrettably a bit outdated, 2011 I believe) shows that Canada is indeed whiter than the U.S (in both geography and demography). Still, I stick by my original point, though now I think the homogeneity factor is a little more relevant. There is not as much hate when everyone is the same, look at Japan and South Korea. The more diverse a populace the more conflict they usually have, whether in beliefs, political ideals or just the the spices they put in their foods. Of course the upside to that is the blending of cultures (a la Barrack as Mr. C mentioned) which, even from a biological perspective, is usually a good thing.
I just wish cops wouldn't be the ones doing the hate crimes, I'd like to think the crimefighters are impartial. But the such is the way of the world.
