Usually the report date is so late because they let you have time to do the recruiter assistance program (like 2 or 3 weeks) and take some leave. RIP doesnt count as leave but i didn't really spend too much time working for my recruiter when i did that.
Hopefully you submitted that paperwork!

I am living in the middle of Hessen like an hour of drive from Frankfurt and probably like 2 hours from you then.
What are you interested in ? If you are interested in history like old castles i can give you some nice recommendations like the Castle of Braunfels. (
http://www.braunfels.de/sites/gensite.asp?...rt=0119&C=2 ). Or are you interested in a Zoo (there is the famous "Opel Zoo" near Frankfurt)?
Or more clubs, bars and party? (then i have no clue what is around Kaiserlautern

)

There are many ruins and castles next to the Lahn river...
I've spend the last two years in Weilburg, before I moved to Munich.

@PKK: Damn so we lived like 20 minutes of drive from each other with out knowing
A thing i also would recommend when you go to Germany: Go to a brewery and take a tour. The big ones mostly offer tours in English.
