Phantom032 wrote:QUOTE (Phantom032 @ Jan 17 2012, 01:12 PM) Let me explain:

CODE[..................]
this is the box supposed to hold the tip of the day and the way it looks in R5

[.........xxxxxxxxx]
xxxxxxxxx

This is where the text actually is in R6

The background doesnt change between R5 and R6, only the text position and format change (start further right with same right border = more lines).
Because of that, the longer tips of the day are so long they leave the box on the bottom side and it looks ugly.

I dont know much about that artwork-UI stuff so I have no clue what might be causing this, or how to fix it.
There was supposed to be an artwork change to make it work differently. I think you might be missing the updated artwork file... but then so am I cos it does that for me too.

Yeah I was gonna say, I thought Sp4wn or someone fixed that. Probably got mixed up somewhere.

Sp4wn has well... spawned and seems otherwise engaged. I'll have a look.

not the MotD, we're talking about the tip that appears during countdown.

Not the message of the day, its about the tip of the day you get during the 15 second countdown when a game starts.
Still ready to teach anyone who asks nicely whatever they want to know about playing alleg. Contrary to popular opinion I do not eat newbies. Voobs taste much better.

It works fine with clean install, even with latest CortUI (1.77 and alpha).

Phantom032 wrote:QUOTE (Phantom032 @ Jan 17 2012, 01:30 AM) - takes long, even compared to my sometimes long loading times on R5. Maybe my connection just had a bad day, but I'd like others to check this.
FAZDev is running in a VM on Mach3, so it's maybe a bit slower than other servers.

If you use high res textures, it may takes some time to join, because textures and so on are loaded when you join a game (only directly after starting Alleg or core contains different artwork).
Phantom032 wrote:QUOTE (Phantom032 @ Jan 17 2012, 01:30 AM) - tip of the day was in the wrong position
Missing or custom artwork.

ingame:
Phantom032 wrote:QUOTE (Phantom032 @ Jan 17 2012, 01:30 AM) - you cannot tell docked miners to stay docked, only miners that are currently out.

Phantom032 wrote:QUOTE (Phantom032 @ Jan 17 2012, 01:30 AM) - a single chat message to a miner will undock it, not just a proper command (open chat, write .miner123, hit tab, hit 'a', hit enter. Doesnt work with chat message containing only spaces). One might actually consider this a feature, not a bug.
I'm unable to reproduce.

long version:
- start game
- tell your miner to stay docked
- wait until it is docked
- hit enter to open chat
- write .miner123 (replacing the numbers ofc)
- hit tab
- write any message thats not only spaces (my personal favorite is 'a')
- hit enter
- the miner will launch once there is a helium rock that it can mine instead of waiting.

On to the problem this brings:
-> this chat message is only visible for the author, not visible for the commander or anyone on command wing

In general 'stay docked' and 'launch' commands are not visible for the commander or anyone on command wing.

Seems like I had no mine-able rock during my test, confirmed.
