but why the 10 minute wait? We've been getting dropped, kicked, crashed, whatever since forever, but always have been able to rejoin immediately

sounds like Comcast is banning you. Prob thinks you're torrenting or something knowing how nanny state your country is

Maybe the Stateful Packet Inspection (firewall) of the SMC router is the cause of these problems... But that this is only a shot in the dark.

So I tried the tracert thing: gave up at 27 timeouts, and the second and only readable hop was into "unallocated address blocks" at 100ms??? (10.40.20.68)
Odd that Mach 3 can even see me, to tell the truth.
Can someone venture a theory as to wtf is going on other than MTC Namibia, Africa, and yet more Africa??
I am just very curious about this...

You have a poor ISP, who doesn't have enough IPv4 addresses for each of their customers. He is forced to use NAT in his network...
