I believe my first post was half a screen or so on how bombers were over powered and that the balance of the game was all wrong since whoever got bombers first won, and that this game had potential if bombers were nerfed so people could actually get time to explore the tech tree and build more bases - based on a series of games where bombers had been rushed and the team couldn't D.
I remember the responses along the lines of "lol this noob comes here and thinks he knows how to fix all the problems in his first day like us vets don't know anything". I don't remember who said what though.
*checks your join date* wow, you joined after me? I guess I don't really remember you from my early days, but everyone's been here so long it's hard to remember who came when.
I guess it's easier to remember one's own first post, your first post to me is one of tens of thousands I would have seen in the 2.5 years between me and you joining, but it would have been
your first post to you.

You built this elaborate breadboard as an (I'm assuming) undegrad mimicing rudimentary digital logic... if memory serves me right. I replied with a "WHOA you gots potential! Keep it up" You replied with

Mostly for mad:
Ignore gaming for now, but I never "run out of space", in other words I'm very comfortable with dual monitors. Should I give a shot to triples? It seems I may be confused about what is where, and there may be too much side-to-side travel....

Actually the computer was an A-level project (year before university). I'm currently doing my Phd so I'm not a Dr yet

I can't really say, I do find use for 3 while working (like above two screens with code, one with reference web pages, or one with circuit diagram, one with writeup, one with a data sheet), some times I use them like I would 2 screens (one code, one reference material) and just have email or media player on the 3rd, some times I turn the 3rd off, and some times I only have one on if I'm just browsing). Some times I have 2 different browsers on 2 different screens and the 3rd with a text editor. If I'm working in LabVIEW on a big VI then it is handy to be able to stretch it across 5760px.
I don't have problems getting confused where stuff is since I tend to put stuff in the same place each time.
I should point out that only ATI cards which do eyefinity can drive 3 screens from one card. If you've got Nvidia you'll need 2 Nvidia cards to to drive a triplet.

If you get a newer graphics card that supports 3 monitors I would look into giving that a shot. Dual monitors front and center is kind of distracting in games (as far as the bezel gaps are concerned), but triple monitors is awesome. The middle monitor is what you look at most of the time and the left and right monitors you bend slightly towards you so there isn't much of a problem looking left and right. Also, most new graphics card drivers come with Bezel compensation to minimize the negative effect or scene warping.
I wouldn't get dual monitors for gaming purposes, i would get one large one instead (like 32" or 40+" 1080p TV). If you want multiple small, I would go with the triple setup on a newer graphics card.

1080p 32" or 40" TV for a computer screen? Eww, bad idea, TV screens are designed to be viewed from a distance - sit close up to to your tv, compare how it looks to a computer screen - TV pixels are huge!. 32" computer monitors are pretty damn expensive as I remember, I'd take my 3 24" screens with 5760*1200 res over a 32" 1920*1080 (1080p) TV any-day for a computer.
Check ebay, my 3 screens are all second hand (but like new ~100 hours of use, still in warranty).

I didn't really like Oblivion which was hyped up @#(! (dynamic Radiant AI my ass), only reason I have it is because I wanted Fallout and it was cheap steam bundle (damn you cheap steam sales) and even then Fallout NV is the only good one of the lot (not made by Bethcrapda)
also
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjbx6-KQoRg E3 demo for oblivion and voiced by the same guy so wouldn't be surprised if there are some missing features.
