I would say this was conclusive proof (mathematically speaking).
If I hadn't already been struck by
true love at first sightearlier in my life, I'd agree such a phenomenon was non-existent though.

sod mathematics:
though to be serious for once, agri has had this lust at first sight thing happen to him and - whilst it ended badly, and it took place in a really weird context - it was enjoyable whilst it lasted.

When she asks you if you believe in love at first sight, you say "yes", stupid. It's ok if it only lasts until breakfast.

If you have an image conscious or unconscious of the perfect partner (or she reminds you of your mum) and you see that, you can be fooled into the 'love at first sight' thing
Otherwise it is just lust. You dont get any 'best friends at first sight' thing happening, do you?
Agri....nice pic of Kelly Rowland your true love

Also don't fall in love by text.
Ammendment:
Because you are setting yourself up to be disappointed, don't put too much effort if its not worth it.

According to a lot of WW][ marriages that were "love at first site" and ended up lasting to "Death do us part", the answer is yes.

I question the existence of love, much less love at first sight.
The whole thing seems like BS to me, I mean, love might well just be something imagined (and reinforced through social consensus)
out of a desire for companionship or simple animal lust, possibly a combination of the two. You could argue that the this combination IS love, but if that's the case, then what is the big deal? It seems so inconsequential which makes it odd that love is so obsessed over, and that is not even considering that neither of the two "basic traits" is either consistent nor permanent.
Though I will admit that love is a complex issue, so maybe there is more too it?
TLDR; Love is wishful thinking/fairy-tale stuff and so is love at first sight. $#@! all.
