Poor sweden :iluv:

6 - 1 is pretty crushing. I must say they were making the finnish team look like amateurs for the first two rounds 0-0, 0-1, but in the third they were quickly demoralised and crushed. gg, and now my countrymen will go on their victory bender

Winning should be a national holiday anyways.

PS: The Euros host the championship during the Stanley Cups playoffs, ensuring that Canada and the US can't field their best players.

I doubt we are clever enough to do that on purpose. :) In any case, _our_ best players tend to be in NHL making $$$ most of the year.

Why should the rest of the world care? It's just one league. Find a better mode and stop whining. :P

o.O Finland won 6 - 1 vs Sweden. Congratulations! I thought it's always the same story: The finish team plays a good tourney until they face the swedish team. They lose, while the Finns at home switch of the TV after 15 mins and go into frustration mode, ranting and drinking...

1) Any half ass hockey fnas knows how Europeans play hockey and why

2) That is exactly the reason for world championships are scheduled

3) FreeBeer is being nice is all. The reason is the Canadians scare the @#(! out of the Euroepean teams...
assuming the rules aren't so candy ass only amateurs are allowed in tourney play. (A huge percentage of NHL players are Canadians)

Btw it a sterotype that Europeans don't play tough.

The Finns are hardly afraid of the Canadian Hockey Team. I did see an old drunk Finnish Lady (~65 years old) on the Ferry between Helsinki and Tallinn back in 2003, who started attacking some english speaking 2 m 110 kilo guy made out of steel and few teeth, cause she thought he was a member of the Canadian national team. :D

Yeah, that sounds like the Finnish team alright. I'll bet she was the Fin's 1st line power forward! ;)
