anyway...interesting for GOM...most likely will go with VLC...maybe there are skins or something for it so i don't have to see all that stuff lol

I'd suggest linux mint since it comes with everything required to play dvds already in it.
If Defi has only one optical drive I like the irony of this suggestion (unless it puts the whole CD onto a RAM disk which I don't think it does by default). :whistle:

immzzy recommended xbmc to me a while ago and I can say that it is the dogs bollocks.

I recommended a live cd to make your life difficult.

There are, and in fact in the menu after it's installed you can use the "VLC media player skinned" instead of the regular one to use the default skin. Default skin is really nice.

I love XBMC but I would not personally use it anything less than a media center. I mean you can even hook it up to a MySQL server to store everything if you want . . . XBMC Live + blu-ray drive + VDPAU video card (low profile 210 for me) = awseome.
