I used MDLUtility2 to extract it to .png

And I used MDLthing to generate a .mdl that points to said PNG

It has worked for other buttons and backgrounds,

Allegiance crashes when it reaches the screen with the button, no error thrown
I tried saving it in a different file format from PNG (bmp) still no dice

Useful info mad, when I am done and research an installer to use I will have to do that.

does the game crash if you convert your .png to .bmp and use mdlc to convert that to a bmp.mdl?
Are you sure you had the .png in the right place for what the text bmp.mdl says?
Tried changing the transparancy parameter (This one is just a wild stab in the dark, I don't know if a wrong value here would cause a crash, more likley just result in ugly black splodges)

all the links i found to mdlc are broken

It points to the correct location, and for the other buttons i did not touch the black color and made black transparent by default

The button that I am having problems with is the Game Launch for the comm with GC.

The team join button that looks the same works so I am lost as to why this is not working.

edit:
WAIT! I have cort UI installed could it be possible that that may be the cause of this, I know that it modifies stuff around the lobby chat area?

Cort UI does have its own artwork repository in its folder. I cant remember which artwork it changes though.

It dose not CHANGE it.

It would have moved it slightly to account for the larger chat pane, if anything.

Thanks mad I will see if that works tomorrow when I get some time.

hey,

You're all cordially invited to share your findings and insights on the wiki. I can't do it all on my own :)

Also i'm curious as to what broke your button. You don't want it to be incompatible with the highrez texture packs out there.

Well the one button problem has been moved to the back of the non in game list (I will finish all of it before I poke flight panes)
If my internet keeps giving out on me I should be done with the all of the non in game stuff in a week and 1/2

No better inspiration than boredom

About the Wiki though, I am not doing a "full" conversion of all the UI things, so I have no complete list of files, the only useful info I would find on my quest to kill time and make allegiance less fugly looking. (IMO)

2 Questions

Why where a few of the game option combo buttons replaced?
Why are the NEW and the OLD buttons still in the installer?
