I'm sorry? Did I post in the wrong forum? If not, elaborate please.

Every squad leader should run its own squad the way he thinks is the best.
Although I really like the idea! But I think we need a bigger player base for that...
I might be wrong though!

No, you posted in the correct spot and even though I don't agree with the idea it was definitely worthy of its own thread.
Just ignore fuh-zz - I mean, for christ's sake, the guy is sporting GoldDragon@GB's old signature.

Raveen wrote:QUOTE (Raveen @ Apr 23 2010, 07:55 AM) Personally I'm not keen on anything that dictates to squads how they must handle recruitment. Squads are about more than just SGs (although that's a huge part of the appeal for many people) and I'll defend that to the hilt.
+1
Good thinking on an obvious issue, but I doubt I would be willing to allow anymore outside dictation to the medheads. Can't speak for all our members, but I would have to oppose that.
*edit* and yes...don't worry about fuzzles. He can sometimes have what I refer to as "text-form Turet's Syndrome"..

Imo, this can't be enforced on the existing squads. I would like to see some event with drafted teams and the goal to get a set of competetive games with even teams though, as the squadgames with nearly even skilled teams are the ones, that are really enjoyable. Perhaps we could try to organize this as a event with limited players and games.
PS: I have no signature atm. Could anyone of you provide me with some golddragon-style one? I always liked that baroque and overloaded signature, but failed to create one myself. I would gladly assist with helping on the search of different pictures and topic this masterpiece ca be composed from.

I too have an idea that has no discernible origin.
Have one squadded players only game every Sunday, same time as regular SG. Only difference is that which squad you are in doesn't matter. PUG style with tags. This way anyone who doesn't have a game can get one. This is almost already being done but too much thought is going into it. It really doesn't need to be organized or limited to which squads play on which teams. Just show up, join server and go. Maybe even reverse pick pool...
C'mon everybody! We all throw in our 2 cents and we can buy a case of beer!

To everyone who asks "why do we need something like this?" I think the rather obvious answer is that some people would prefer that instead of having 1 or 2 top squads, it would be more interesting to have more competition and more equally distributed talent.
In response to ducky's idea, I like the direction but I'm not sure it will work in implementation, for the reasons posted by raveen - nobody wants to be prevented from being in the squad they want to be in.
Perhaps the best way to accomplish something like this is to have a different kind of tourney, call it an intramural allegiance tourney, wherein a draft is held and teams are formed solely for purposes of the tourney. It might be interesting and who knows, people may come to like it.
