HTTing without a cloak?

Edit: The lt sig cloak idea could be pretty interesting if it uses a fair amount of energy. Bios HTTs would still retain their advantage.

No. HTTs can be as cheesy as you want to make them with speed or sig perks alone. The question is -- how cheesy do you want them to be? Is it not enough for exp to have the cheapest endgame tech, AND the best ships, AND a yield perk, AND pulse probes, AND the unique ability to retain captured bases[*]? Bios HTTs are bad enough. Sheesh.

Anyways a well-executed forcecap is one of this game's most purest pleasures. Stealth really isn't exp's style in the first place.

[*] Yes, I said unique. NG bombers are a myth.

Moving HC feels a bit odd. Missile Frigate is screwed over for one, and so is SBing for those who know to use heavy cloack.

I'd rather see the sig / speed / agility / mass (<--- not all at once hopefully) of the HTT tweaked. Wouldn't this just result on exp vs. exp hide and seek games where the HTTs are pulsed out anyway?

/edit forgot about SBs when typing this reply originally.

FBs aren't particularly effective without TP2 though. If you probe up even a little bit you'll see them coming a mile away and have time to get prox on the aleph. TP2 is expensive (22.5k for HTTs, 25k for TP2 figbees with ltboost picked up and not purchasing cruise booster and excluding bbrs).

I like the idea of a lt sig cloak for HTTs, something that lowers their sig by a little bit.

Though brood does bring up a very good point: why are HTTs so expensive? I think SRM EMP should be auto-researched and the price of Figbees raised to that of adv figs. Figbees now cost 30k (with TP2) and HTTs cost 17.5k

juckto wrote:QUOTE (juckto @ Mar 11 2010, 05:44 PM) Ugh. HTTing is unbelievably easy with a hvy cloak. Put all your idiots and whores in ints, and get one decent pilot in the htt. gg.

Woo, belter htt being rammed up to 100mps that doesn't get eyed till it's within 1k of the base. 100mps + if the rammer uses it's boosters.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

How about let's start by making TTs actually not completely worthless.
Make TTs function as Htts but make Htts HEAVY so they don't get rammed 1000000 times before dying, and actually have a chance at bouncing off a green door.

I agree with Masta, TT's are completly worthless. Give them a function like being able to cap bases, but the TT should have a small mass so they can be rammed away and make the HEAVY TT actually be heavy.
