madpeople wrote:QUOTE (madpeople @ Aug 25 2009, 06:46 PM) madpeople is slightly confused, the text suggests it's a ship, but the thread description a base.
This image actually looks rather like a base (SY), with the long empty section going through the middle being the capship dock place. The little bits on the side could be small ship docking places.
I think he meant the first pic is the actual SY, while the sencond and third pics are named per type.
(Btw, the first ship comes with a death star ray dish! Uber

they're the same model, but seen from different angles
but you are right, from the second angle it does look more ship like.

Sorry for the confusion MadP/Hermit, the pics are of a ship only, cap303 (belter corv/assault ship model), from different angles. The subtext on the title I selected because it was the first vc relating to shipyard tech that popped into my mind. In retrospect I probably should have went with "They have capitols!" or "Inbound enemy Cap ship!".
Hopefully I will get around to making a model for the shipyard itself eventually, but that will be much further down the road. I decided to work on ships first because the stations have already recieved some lovin' in the form of high res textures.

Ada, if you want any of the source material from the belters bases drop me a PM, that's a massive improvement on the current model and deserves to be seen ingame.

Well, I had been making progress with the texture until my laptop went on the fritz. Luckily I've got a copy of the geometry on a thumbdrive. So the only thing I've really lost is access to photoshop from home.

That's why you always BACKUP. But hey, the models look damn fine.

Backup Photoshop? Generally you don't need to backup applications.

Man, I really, really hate UV mapping. Sorry for being so slow, I've still got a ways to go. Hopefully I'll have some WIP shots up soon for constructive criticism.
