Assault miner advancement for cornered teams or the late game. Trades capacity and yield for lower sig, smaller size and speed.

Code change. Capacity and Yield are determined by the faction, not the miner.

Deep space carrier. Cheap but very fragile. Meant for hiding them at sector boundaries. I.e. in your own op/tele sectors when the enemy is going to galv them soon.

ICBM's . A constructor that moves faster than the standard brr but slower than an ab misslem, but can travel thru alephs., and does damage to bases . Can still be shot down, run thru caltrop, prox, ult cannonz, ect.

Is it possible to define two mutually exclusive advancement paths in the core? I.e. if you research assault miner (with a more radical HP/speed balance) you can't research enh/adv miner.

No.

Edit: On second thought, I'm going to split the ridiculous stuff from Vly's thread. Amusing has turned into retarded and that thread deserves better.

But you can still use GAs. It'd replace ALL of the miners, but it's vaugely possible

True, you could technically make the "Assault Miner" research lower the yield & capacity as well. It'd be a permanent trade-off though, and I can't think of many situations where you'd want to lower your yield. Trading capacity & mining speed would probably be a little more balanced.

Or trading Hull? have a lightly armoured miner that's a bit more stealthy?

Not sure this is a good idea TBH - as the sig Perk will not make the Miners that hard to Find (Vets just watch the He drop and go for the rock the know the miner will be at due to Miner AI)
