Having 2 minepack/load is already a good reason for me to use minepack over prox. I don't think MP needs any perk.

The only adjusting minepacks could possibly use is in mass (maybe).

Is there a minefield calculator anywhere for download?
I'd like to take a look.
If not, what's the formula?

Jukto's proposal about mass is a good one, otherwise....let them be.

Seconded. All I could find in a search was that it is an Excel spreadsheet, but no link.

You realize two MPs last 10 seconds, less than one prox1 (15s)?
I know you do... just wanted to remind other, less informed players.
I get tired of explaining this in-game to people who barely even understand activation.
I do however agree that MPs need no perk.
Especially not extended lifetime, that would make it too easy to camp alephs and camping is effective enough if you vets doing it.

Two minepacks don't need to be better or as good as Prox. The point of a minepack is that you can load it on a fighter at all.
Personally I rather use prox with a bios fig, but that doesn't mean that MP needs a boost.

To be fair, the point of one mp is that you can load it on a fighter. If two mp were so much worse than one prox that you'd never load it on a scout, then there'd be no point in having the ability to drop mp in a scout. I think the present difference strikes a good balance between wanting mp to be mostly worse and not wanting it to be entirely useless, but a slight drop in mass might be reasonable.
