We do know someone who does that. He also doesn't do any of the following:

Does that mean regardless the settings or map the comm is forced to fly giga? You would think a comm would know better then to push a ref next to an enemy sector, then build an op next to it, especially when your tech choice is sup.

Das gave a -20k handicap asap which hurts lots and ACS comm still couldn't work with it.

And you guys force people to command Giga? The first week? That is some sick @#(!. Who died and let MrC start running the community circus?

btw I lose the Garr balls because I surrendered to spidey in a Garr off. Sleepz
In order for me to run the community circus the size would have to shrink to approximately two and I'd still be reluctant unless you were member number two Das then I'd do it for the good of the community

Well we have discussed why Giga is Week 1 instead of a faction like IC over there but
a) this is not Week 1 of ACS,
b) it's nice to get your feet wet with a weaker faction and maybe learn the most important thing which is economic management early and
c) ACS students can command whatever they choose, it's just that the material for certain factions are released certain weeks so it makes more sense to command the faction in question as you can discuss strats 'n' stuff with your fellow students.

Eh, well, I think the whole ACS thing is bogus. These days its almost like ACS is just some weird program that throws an odd allegite out to command badly under some hider. When we even see those buggers.

More people should learn like I did.

I'll tell you people something that should be obvious. ACS is not an instant "you are now awesome at commanding" thing, it's just like Cadet. If you're pro at commanding, you probably won't need ACS. If you are the scum of the earth and think that ACS will instantly grant you commanding prowess, then you're looking in the wrong place. Then there are the regular players, who are smart, are quick learners and may have a knack for commanding that isn't immediately apparent who subsequently become fairly competent or even good after they've done the program, gotten some experience, learned some interesting strats and tactics that aren't readily known and have protection from character assassination through the use of the ACS hider. Even if eventually the student graduates but is never really "pro at commanding", we'd like to think that getting eight weeks in the command chair would improve their overall situational awareness and instill in them a respect for the commander's position, and eventually make them a more well-rounded and effective player. And of course, if you're pro at commanding and take ACS, you can only get better or so I would assume.

If you think that's bogus, then fine. We only take the horse to the water. We can't make the horse drink.
