Rank is a lie. Real skill is self evident during the game.
I got called moron the other day for not camping an aleph. In fact, I knew the bomber had no nans, and killed it. So you see, moron-calling isn't related to skill.
Sometimes there's nothing you can do about it. I once got caught after a mutiny following still the orders of the previous commander, then got booted. D'oh!

the cadet courses, it really is worth a good read to follow this game, expecially when you are new.
There are some bad eggs and good eggs. I hope it doesn't spoil your experience of this excellent game - and don't forget its just a game, if people are being asshats - just ignore them and carry on doing your best for the team, the decent players will soon respect you, and you will often get help from people.

And grow a thicker skin. This IS the internet. Either learn to deal with all kinds of @#(! or get out. Me? I deal with it by talking right back at them, or when commanding, booting the @#(! out of them.
Make sure if you don't know what your doing, you actually speak up. Silence is deadly, simply because we'll assume you don't want to learn if you don't say something about how you don't know. IE - I see you flying in circles i'll assume your being a moron or jerking off, and then you get the boot. However if you say something like "I need to reconfigure my controls" and THEN I see you flying in circles, no problem!

You would have to be on Rocket Turtles to mutiny first
. And I actually did that a couple of sgs ago... grav and Das went all "wtf" and started to spam me commands...but I actually had to reconfigure my controls that time

I'm pretty new at the game myself people will always be @#$%@#s it's to be expected out of any game, It's a learning experience. This game is stressful enough for veteran's as it is so it's easy to see why they get mad, don't let that discourage you though if anything you should be more motivated by it. At the end of the day anything that anybody said about you doesn't really matter. I get threatened with a boot sometimes as well you just have to learn which commanders are easier on noobs and which ones aren't and if you do get booted, don't worry about it just take from it as a learning experience getting booted builds character.

Yeah, just look at slap. You can easily see he never gets booted.
