I don't think there were any plans on putting Faction X on CC (not saying it's not going to happen though). Faction X is going to be available on Andon's RaptorCore which is basically going to be CC with OH and Faction X swapped I think.

Yes, but if I understood Andon's posts correctly, the reason it's being introduced on a separate core is so two new factions don't have to be balanced at the same time on the same core, rather than because of space limitations; and in theory, once the balancing was done, they would be both added to the same core. I might be mistaken, this is just how I understood it, so plz correct me if I am wrong.

Balancing of both might be an issue but space is definately a factor.

There were never any plans to include Andons faction into CC. Allegiance cores have limited space and with release of omicronhive i believe that there would be enough if not too many factions in the game already. Every faction brings something new to the field making a complex game even more complex. More focus needs to be spent of development of the current factions and introducing new things to those factions even if the changes are subtle.

I am serious about this core, Im planning a test release by friday next week. I did all the ground work on the faction before i went away for a few weeks. So all I have to do is update the models and release it. Might i add this new core by me is based on CC_03 so the other factions will not be too different.

Apoch: Keeping Phoenix out = AWESOME. The only way they could really be added is if they were re-made, which would make them, well, not phoenix.

There were, but only after extensive testing and balancing. It was a "When it seems like a good idea" type of thing - So months, if not years, away.

As for pre/def space - X only uses 14 pre/def bits, and I could likely easily trim that down if I really needed to, although I highly doubt that.

And Girlyboy hit the nail on the head - X was put into Raptor for the simple reason that attempting to balance two brand new factions simply wouldn't work, period. Raptor is intended to function as a core for them to be tested in and pretty much nothing else. However, it wasn't given any time period aside from "However long it takes to get them balanced to the requirements to get them into CC" - which, as mentioned, could be as long as years.

Now, to address another question:
QUOTE Ah, a serious question about this: Weren't there plans to eventually introduce both Omicron Hive and Faction X on CC? And if so, doesn't that mean that there is space at least for two more factions, so both Phoenix and OH could be put in (at least until Faction X is finished)?[/quote]
Phoenix takes up a ridiculous number of pre/def bits (Over a hundred, IIRC). OH takes up a lot as well. Currently, there are only 400 pre/def bits in a core - So putting Phoenix as is into the same core as OH would be, well, pretty un-possible. Faction X, as mentioned, only uses something like 14 pre/def bits, which allows it to keep into the same things easily enough.

Pnx also uses LOADS of armour classes. Pnx basically takes up a huge ammount of core resources, taking it out frees up a lot of space in the core for more factions.

If there will be competing cores again, I'll be very sad. I hope something better will be worked out still.

Phoenix should be completely re-done from the ground up, rising again like the bird after which it takes its name as a non-bloated, non-space-hogging, well-balanced faction!

Well, if there was anyone to do it. (I don't know how. :P ) It's jut a shame to see all the neat models go to waste.
