What do you consider laggy?

I get ~100ms ping on GPZ and ~230ms on Planet.
Above 250ms it starts geting difficult to pick up stuff.

Heh, spin, I get the opposite. ~ 90 on Planet and ~ 250 on GPZ.

That being said, these days I tend to drop from Planet a lot >.<

He has a 90 ms low planet orbit around Planet2. The atmosphere is lowing him down, until he drops on Planet2. :P

Only occasionally. Sometimes I'll crash right back to earth and see the mountains of work I still have to do.

I think that Planet is better than GPZ because although it has worse average ping, the pings are less extreme, whereas on GPZ, half the people will have pings of under 80, and then there is a big gap, then loads of people with 250+ pings, planet however is generally a nice even ping, even if it is higher =]

I wouldn't consider "following an enemy, shooting at him, then realize that the enemy is few kilometres away from you in different direction than that you are heading" a nice ping. :glare:

A few days ago, we were playing on Planet and the enemy team was hardcore bombing us so we couldn't place our tac or anything. While the tac con is ripping out, the bomber drops. Sweet, saved by the server. Counter-bomb time, right? Well, I get into a bomber, get turrets, nans, and fly towards their op. I drop ~2k from the base, but a turret gunner gets takes over to finish the job. Then we decide to draw it and move to GPZ. Even though I had pings of like 160-180, it was pretty good.

Usually when I get to play it's near SG time, maybe a few hours earlier on a good day. When the game is on Planet the average ping tends to be significantly worse than on GPZ. Planet also crashes a lot more. Despite these things, about two times out of three or more the main game is on Planet. Unfortunate.

I don't mind playing in Planet since my ping is perfectly playable (about 170), but I'd like to see GPZ see more use.

:o

Usually the average ping on Planet is in the 120s to 150s during SG time, and when RT played vs PK on GPZ the average ping I saw was something like 200 to 250. When I esc-P on GPZ I see a LOT of yellow.
