Is this a viable way to play a stealth class?

Tactical advice, How-to, Post-mortem, etc.

I present the jury with boost3 belt scouts and heavy dreg scouts. Also if you look phoenix says running away not hiding, and nothing is better then running away then a dreg heavy scout or a belter heavy scout with boost3, (ok maybe a dreg heavy int with boost3 is good at running away, but not as far as the scouts)

No, the boost 3 belters heavy scout gets to boost off and pound the ripcord key.

But the dreg heavy scout is so fast its in a constant state of running away even when attacking

I'm sure you have your answer by now, but it's one FELL swoop, not fail.

Before you respond, no, that's not nitpicking. It's called expecting one to know WHAT a phrase actually is if one is to use it.

No better way to run away than to disappear.

People just take stuff too seriously I think. Except IB, of course.

Fixed. :)

As someone pointed out earlier, you should have stealth in mind for pretty much every ship you fly. It's always worth it to control when your ship is or is not seen, whether or not it has a cloaking device equipped.

As I'm sure you are rapidly discovering, Allegiance has an extremely satisfying and well-implemented stealth dynamic. Enjoy!

P.S.
QUOTE (original poster)one fail swoop[/quote]
I think you meant "one fell swoop," but I am appropriating this unintentionally clever pun for the use of describing sudden and epic failures in the future. Thanks!

I'm with Pheonix on this - you can run away in a scout very well if you know what you're doing. If the enemy knows what he's doing, it won't matter if you're in a SF or scout anyway. You've just got to be able to predict what he'll do.

One other thing - if you spend a lot of the game doing this in a stealthy scout/SF, AND drop probes around the map in useful places. Your commader will love you and always accept you on his team.

YES PLEASE. :D I seem to remember some other core experimenting with backwards-utilized tracking torpedoes, too... :P

Also, a scout that can explode on command and nearly take out a capship in the process would be very fun. :P
