I have to agree that Hvy ints are just fine. While we might consider nerfing basic/light int ammo, that's not strictly necessary. Let's look at the differences:
Enh->Adv Fig:
More ammo, but not more guns
More missiles
29% more hull
More fuel
More energy and recharge
higher top speed
faster, cheaper ripcord
improved scan range
Can mount galvs and hvy booster
Basic->Hvy Int
One more gun, but not more ammo
Extra chaff
7% more hull
higher top speed
improved scan range
Also notable is that enh figs have more guns than basic figs, but the same amount of ammo. While there are a far fewer differences between the ints than between the figs, I think it's generally felt that hvys are much more effective than basic ints. It's the third gun. Really, if you're running out of ammo and not trying to solo a miner, you're either doing something wrong or you're in a DM sector and should just head back to base.
All in all, I don't see a need for changes.

Damnit what happened to our beloved Int Lobby? Before, everyone was obsessed with ints. Now there is a mentality that "INTS ARE BAD".
We need to start handing out flyers or something.

I wish people would stop making suggestions based on stuff in Alleg being illogical.
You know what I think is illogical ?
I think it's illogical that a miner which spends half the time with it's nose in the rock is designed with it's sensors pointed forward. Miners should have 360 full scan.
Also, adv miners should have turrets. Heavy scouts have turrets and advanced miner do not ?
Come on ?!
Also, people who are five year old should be allowed to fly spaceships.
And last but not least:
Allegiance is an amazing game which does not cost anything to play ...
That does not make any sense what-so-ever !!!
Am I right or what ?!

Because doing 50% more damage per second isn't good enough?
Heavy ints are fine, if a bit overpowered, 'illogical' or not.

The Int lobby is too busy flying hvy ints to bother lobbying anymore.
Start a topic about perking fighters or Quickfires, and i bet you they will rear their heads to the topic for a second in between kills.
