If I'm not listed, does that mean i don't exist?

Due to the fact that #draw is currently used to end silly games (on the whole) we're currently ignoring them. It's not that the system doesn't support #draw, it's fully coded, but we encountered a whole load of super-stacked draws which resulted in crazy rank updates. I've proposed introducing #abandon to end such games, but this is alleg. Two Weeks™.

I have more total games listed on AS than in HELO and I have been playing for less than a year, so I think there's more to it than just the years of data collected.

Also, could you have it not count people who have played for very few hours/games in the average player ranking? It seems really odd that the average player ranking is 1ish.

Also, you define a Mu of 25 as being perfectly average. Can I suppose that being below 25 means a person is a detriment to the team and above 25 is a benefit to the team?

Thank you for the reply

I am a bit confused by:
Total Games in System: 28361
and
Last Game Processed: 78085

If the ID is at nearly 80K and the games processed is at 28K, what happened to all the other games? Were they not counted (yet)?
Tigereye wrote:QUOTE (Tigereye @ Dec 30 2008, 01:27 AM) #2: The reason why you don't see any more stationkills or playerkills with these older games processed is because those fine-grained statistics were not collected until a year into the stats project, starting at GameID 19124.
Damn, I probably spent most of my game time in a pre-stats time. :)

i was wondering if it made any sense to take sigma into account when showing the stack rating... a guy with 1 game played had the top score here. this way, the limit stack rating will still be the same, but you will only see experienced players on top of the leaderboard (or hardcore stackers).

i don't know if it makes any sense, what do you think about it?

a possible formula: (<the rating they have now>)/(1+mu^n) for some n>=1

Well I know some days i've created upto 10 solo games trying out this and that. I'm sure others are the same. Let alone the amount of late night games that never reach 5v5...

Every game, with at least one player, with a gametime of more than 0 secs gets it's own GameID.

A game with a GameID doesn't mean, that the game will count in stats. ;)

Just start a solo game and resign it, before you have done anything. You will see TAG broadcasting your GameID.

AllegSkill looks neat. When will it officially be implemented, our ranks set to AllegSkill-ranks and will the commander-ranks also be displayed in game in an extra column?

Ranks will be implemented Soon™. We still have a certain amount of work remaining to modify both the Alleg exe and the server to fully support the new system (commander ranks, AS auto-balance etc). This does not, however, prevent us from switching the system over so that the (#) ranks displayed in-game are AS ranks. There was some talk of TE making a page with a big fat red 'Go Live' button on it for me to press to achieve exactly this. I lolled at the notion.

Good answer, pkk.

As for other discrepancies in killcounts and such, the old leaderboard counted *EVERYTHING* available, whereas the new leaderboard only counts stuff that happened in games that actually counted.
If the game did not count (due to gamelength being too short, or too few players on the teams, or it being a 3teamer, etc) then all kills, ejects, station kills, etc will be ignored for that game.
