Good point. I guess coordinating when to go "active" SR or not wouldn't be any easier than the status quo.

It's mostly the assault ship that would benefit. And that thing needs it's cloak, so that's why I'd like for the SR device to be a "gun".

Some use the cloak to run out of energy when they don't want anyone to rip to them, but there are several drawbacks and the pilots shouldn't have to do that.

I don't really know the alleg code, but I think it might be easier to just give the ability to rip receivers to put it off by hitting a button. Doing it through an equipement sounds like extra work while being an extra annoyance for the player.
