i've updated this a bit:

"show complete" (default checked) instead of 'hide done' as suggested by Jucktoremaining time (mins:secs) displayed for devels currently been researched as suggested by Andonprices on icons adjusted to remaining cost when partialled. In the picture, we can see $1500 for enh miner which the amount needed to finish it. the full price, $3750, is still shown on the left panel or when the devel is fully purchased (see enh con)).
i'll wait a bit for more comments before committing this new version so DB doesn't go mad by trying to keep the beta client up-to-date /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Very nice

Maybe add a '*' before each prerequisite:
Hvy Bomber
*Bomber
*Garrison(Str)

And add a comment on the left panel:
*=Tech you need/Prerequisites

Now I just need an alarm to remind me when my partialled techs are about to halt when playing as bios or tf /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I tried it.
One thing I noticed was that every time I switched "show all/complete" the F5 was reset/changed to CONSTRUCTION. E.g. I was viewing EXPANSION and I pressed "show all" and boom I was seeing CONSTRUCTION tree. I guess this is happening because the F5 view is being reset. Anyway it's a minor annoyance.

Another thing I noticed was when I researched the whole tech tree. Of course all tech paths were shown empty. Then I switched to CONSTRUCTION and show that all adv tech bases were displayed red there with an "obsolete" description under them while tech bases (not advanced) were displayed too (researchable/buildable of course). Then I crushed to desktop (the dx... crush)! I am not sure if this happened because of my ATI card or because of the teched out tree (I was flying a scout at the time while viewing F5). My bet is that it happened because of the ATI issue and R5 but I can't be sure.

While you're working on the F5 screen, could you fix it so that "black" stops being transparent?

The original MS devels works fine because all the ships/bases/techs got nebulas and other stuff as background. But GT, for example, is a real picture with a black font and instead of being black, they are transparent. It seems to work just like projectiles.


Also, I'd like to have the unavailable tech "hidden" by default.


The remaining time is a great idea.

But this feature makes me want to have R5 asap /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Great work!

Btw: I always wondered whether it would be possible to include some info at the right corner of the screen about ongoing research/construction (Similar to the way you can display your lag and frame rate).
