This isn't a noob core, this is a core to keep me and IB and other players who sometimes play latenight (many Europeans) from getting pissed off at cheesy latenight tactics like going Tac or getting GS as BIOS.

I know, I was answering the guy above who wanted a newbie core.
As for the late night core, yeah I'm not a fan of all these cores, it's quite annoying to have to learn them all. But hey, you're free to make one and play it and all that jazz. And I'm free to bitch! Freedom Rox!

I'd support making camaro an @Alleg since I think it would be a great start(Yes, I've seenhim lobby sit almost every time I played around that time). I often end up playing latenights, but I shouldn't.
Newbie core or latenight core wouldn't do much imo. I think mentoring/tutoring was the best suggstion, we'd just need to find vets who can do it at these times.

So I think there's two factors. First of all, the 2am-6am Eastern Time slot is just bad. It's awful late even for college students here on the west coast, and it's not even prime time in Australia, it's still early afternoon.
It's entirely possible we have the same retention rate as earlier in the evening, it's just the potential size of our population is that much more limited. It's also possible that the newbies we see end up sticking with the game, but they start playing earlier in the evening when they become regulars. I donno. I'm speculating here. I don't know what it was like 6 mo or a year ago.
Second thing is that small games are tough on newbies. If there is any dead weight on a small team, the whole team feels it. When I started playing, I stuck to large games where I didn't feel there was a huge spotlight on me and my incompetence. There was even a chance that a vet might spend some time mentoring and giving some tips. Not so in small games, it's always rush rush rush, no one has any time to spare.

I'm usually on during Allegiance After-Dark FFS--you guys know it. I don't wear my @Alleg tag unless I need to enforce stuff (again, you guys who play at night already know this).
For the past two weeks however, I've gone down from three machines to one--and the one I have left is running Vista. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to get Allegiance to play / run. Also, I'm in the middle of crunch time at work pending our major release for the year which has hampered my efforts to get things figured-out / working again.
Did the quality of games go down that much in the past two weeks? I always had a good game or two at night, and I usually play until 2 or 3am PST. <shrug>

The problem is if they join a team and just freshly installed Alleg, the lobby will be muted so NOAT whorers can't teach and stuff. Usually noobs don't like to sit on NOAT and do nothing, they also go "PLZ START DA GAME" so it gets kinda difficult. Also, a lot of new players wouldn't put in the time to do CDT unless they felt the game was fun and worth it to begin with, and latenight games do not showcase how fun Alleg can be.
