I abstain whenever I don't care whether to continue or resign. I.e., we could resign, but if the rest of the team wants to fight on a little more then I'm OK with that too.
Not my fault that Allegiance equates my nuanced absention with a "no" vote.
And anyways, why the hell do you care? You can't wait 10 more seconds for a resign to go through?
I like Shiz's method. I always thought the N key could be purposed for something more useful. (I guess I could map it to Alt+N or Ctrl+N).

I suspect Chrono used caps-lock, which makes his entire post invalid.
EDIT: This isnt the rants forum... so rant on?

I never abstain, but rather than listing the names of the players who abstained, why not just add an AFK column in F6, if there is not one there already...(I can't remember)
The Com can check that and boot whoever he wants, without having to have a vote.
Use similar logic to the lobby AFK indicator. Is that a feasible solution?
Rgds,
Aaron

abstain is used for allowing you extra time to kill the miner before your team gives up

abstain does not equal AFK.
I have occasionally abstained a mutiny because I don't always know the comms well enough to support one or the other. I'm not a fan of mutiny because it deprives up and coming comms of the ability to see a game though w/o interruption.

I fail to vote when I'm gunning or nanning a bomb run in the middle of a firefight.
