Drones only have perfect aim if your standing still, its easy to throw them off by simply sidethrusting. Also drones tend to make teams overpowered in small games and underpowered in large games. In a 1 vs 1 a squad of drones would own but in a 20 vs 20, investing in drones is like throwing money away since they don't last long in a large furball.

In game, whne playing TF, the players take the role of TF AIs. Why then would TF be able to use a second set of AIs that are far far more stupid and extremely limited compared to their regular AIs (players)?

Drones do exactly what they are told to
Drones do not bitch and whine
Drones aim almost perfectly
Too bad they cant nan a constructor
Which brings up the idea... how bout a nan drone /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I've see bomber drones and nan drones on the practice mission bombing a base with amazing ease. They dont whine either and with the drones, you could cross nan a bit easier. Drone heals bomber, you heal drone? Or whatever way you would like to do it.

That's how I cross naned on the practice mission.

I don't want to put any pressure on the developers in that department though so let's just keep the drones in attack mode I guess? Whatever makes it easier.

Once upon a time Guild Wars was actually a fun game to play.......then they introduced high quality drones. The customizable drones were actually better than the idiots you'd find in a pickup game. Teamwork and gameplay were completely ruined. Noone wanted to form up teams anymore. What was supposed to make it more fun destroyed the game. Now the only places people play are places that drones aren't allowed. (Sniff....sheds tear...)

Allegiance drones are far from ideal : They can't boost, can't use missles, can't cloak, they can't rip to tp2 or sr, can't drop probes or mines (well, except for single use caltrop/tower), and they don't even sidethrust all that well.

I think drones could be useful in some situations. Yes real players is always more fun, but sometimes they just aren't around. Late nights when games get really small, drones could be used to buffer the effective number of players so that games can retain a more "epic" feel and not degrade into bomb/tac rushes every time. It is very hard to play a 4v4 game and not get blindsided with no probes out, or keep miners alive, or must up a camp fast enough to stop a 1 nan bomb run. With a few drones on each team the game could feel more like an 8v8 which is more or less playable. The drones can be used for basic things like scouting and simple miner d (but not nanning) which frees the human element of the team to do the more involved things like bomb, hunt miners, probe, etc.

In a big game like 20v20, I agree they have no place since all the basic tasks can easily be covered by that amount of ppl.

Yeah /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> .

I was going to say something about the double post but then I figured you were competent enough to realize it on your own.

Turns out I was right /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> .

Im not saying that they should be a replacement, but as a support unit.

IT would be limited in its uses, much in the way that towers are.

Towers are a replacement for people deciding they dont want to camp an aleph, therefore letting in stealth bombers

How about instead of making TF even more silly and ridiculous, we just remove some of the nerfs that Noir applied in the last patch.

Hey, that sounds like a good idea!
