I got a bit bored while searching for a decent HTT picture /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> (I was originally looking for a picture of the red alert 1 chronotank).

I'm think that first int picture is something out of warhammer 40k but I'm not sure.

I just said the scout was a bike since I figured some factions may not use hover technology. IC for example feels like it would use something more similar to a heavy duty armored motorbike. Other factions like gigacorp or BIOS may use hovertech though.

Also I didn't mention ripcording since I'm not sure how that's going to work yet. Probably should make it so only ground units can ripcord. That would allow supremacy to get around better.

The current techpath names are just placeholders to give an idea of what the techpath is about. They will probably be changed later.

I gave sup the slower heavy armor units since I figured that's what supremacy meant. Slow, but you don't want to mess with them.
Expansion focuses on expanding quickly with fast but weaker units (aka aircraft) and capturing enemy bases instead of destroying them. Expansion should probably have galvs since they don't currently have a way to destroy stuff like refs or tele's.

Tactical still needs a unique anti-base tech to give to infantry. I suppose we could just give them smaller versions of supremacy's anti-base bombs then slap a cloaking device on the TT but that doesn't feel right.
Finally tac needs their stealth fighter equivalent. Some kind of light armored hit-and-run style vehicle. I was originally planning to use hover bikes here but decided to use that for scouts instead.

I like. /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":iluv:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" />

EDIT: I don't think you should be able to get out of your vehicle except for stuff like troop transports. Otherwise as Death said it just becomes like BF2.

We'll need to balance out air and ground units in general though.

Air units will have to be significantly weaker, with less firepower.

This is because land units will be obstructed by terrain.

there should also be a limit to how many air units! say 50% of the team!
otherwise it turns into allegiance again.

as for stealth fig. i though a light armored hummer with a missile launcher! low sig! no shield! and sig cloak!

What do we think of ground vehicle physics similar to Halo's Warthog? I for one find that one of the best parts of the whole game; it's just so fun to drive, and it's useful in combat because they're just so mobile. Might be able to have a button to quickly switch from "warthog mode" to normal.

Also, "warthog mode" has its own built-in advantages and disadvantages: you gain mobility, which means it's harder to hit you, but since you're bouncing around like mad, it's harder to aim. In normal mode, you drive more steadily, which is easier to hit and also easier to aim from.

We'd have light and heavy ground units.

Warthog physics would be perfect for light vehicles.

For other light vehicles, you could have some sort of hovering craft.
